How to care for Bromeliad
Sunlight
Prefers bright, indirect light. Direct sun can scorch the leaves, but too little light fades the bract colour.
Water
Keep a little water in the central cup and refresh it every week or so, and water the soil lightly. Do not let the cup stay stagnant for long.
Humidity & temperature
Likes warm, moderately humid conditions at 18–32°C. Avoid cold AC drafts.
Soil & feeding
Use a light, airy mix such as bark and perlite. Feed very sparingly — a few drops of diluted fertiliser in the cup occasionally is enough.
Pruning
Cut off the spent flower and any brown leaves at the base.
Propagation
After flowering, the plant produces pups at the base. Separate them when they are about a third of the parent's size and pot them in a light mix.

Frequently asked questions
Will it flower again?
Each plant blooms once, then slowly declines while producing small offsets (pups). Those pups can be separated and grown on as new plants.
How long does the colour last?
The bract typically holds its colour for several months with good light and care.
Is it safe for pets and children?
Keep Bromeliad out of reach of pets and small children. Many ornamental plants can irritate the mouth or stomach if chewed. If a pet or child eats part of the plant, contact a vet or doctor.
